MotoGP Netherlands GP: Assen Track Information and Broadcast Times

The Grand Prix, the tenth stage of the MotoGP season, will take place between June 26-28 in the TT Circuit Assen, the historic "Cathedral of Speed" track in the Netherlands. This event, featuring the main race starting at 3:00 PM (CET), holds the distinction of being one of the most historic tracks on the calendar. The track's technical specifications, its slick surface, and fast corners demand both agility from the motorcycle and courage from the rider.

Technical Specifications of TT Circuit Assen

TT Circuit Assen is considered one of the most beloved circuits in motorcycle racing. The track has a total length of 4,542 kilometers and a width of 14 meters. It features a total of 18 corners; 12 of these are right turns, and 6 are left turns. The race is structured based on the track's direction of travel.

Assen’s most prominent features are its slick surface and rapid directional changes. High-speed sections of the track are frequently combined with sharp corners. This rhythm tests the agility of the motorcycle and the limits of the rider. The start straight is 487 meters long, followed by the right corner known as Haarbocht. The Strubben chicane in the middle of the track and the GT chicane at the finish are critical points that reward skillful braking. Assen is the oldest track on the calendar, hosting a race every year except 2020 since 1949. This uninterrupted history has earned it the nickname "Cathedral of Speed."

Turning Points and Statistics in MotoGP History

Assen is a venue where many significant moments in MotoGP history have occurred. One of the most memorable events took place at the 2015 Dutch Grand Prix: Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez battled fiercely through the final corners. In the moment of contact, Marquez went off track, and Rossi completed the race in first place. This moment is considered one of the most controversial and memorable finales in the track's history. Furthermore, Assen frequently hosts thrilling battles due to close overtaking and overtaking opportunities; while the track’s narrow nature makes certain sections challenging, the slick corners encourage wheel-to-wheel racing.

Marc Marquez’s victory in the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix drew attention. This victory marked Marquez's 68th win in the premier class, elevating him to the same level as legendary Giacomo Agostini. Marco Bezzecchi secured second place on the podium, and Francesco Bagnaia took third. Fabio Quartararo took pole position in the 2025 season; Pedro Acosta, who fought for the podium, finished fourth.

Our Representative's History at Assen (WorldSBK)

Although our pride, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, will race on a MotoGP motorcycle at Assen this weekend for the first time, he is no stranger to the track as a representative. Toprak has competed for many years at Assen during his WorldSBK career. Interestingly, Assen was one of the tracks where Toprak struggled the most during his WorldSBK tenure, failing to achieve desired results on dry surfaces for an extended period. His only WorldSBK victory at this track came in the 2024 season, second race, which also marked BMW’s first WorldSBK victory at Assen.

In the 2025 season, Toprak won the Superpole race held on wet surfaces. Conversely, he finished ninth and eighth in the main races held on dry surfaces. Thanks to the absence of championship rival Nicolo Bulega on the weekend, the representative gained an advantage from the challenging Assen leg. Toprak views this weekend as one of the turning points in his career. This history has turned Assen into a special test for Toprak, as he will compete with the Yamaha YZR-M1 in a completely different category.

Weather Conditions and Broadcast Schedule

The weather conditions are expected to be variable this weekend. While training sessions are anticipated to be relatively dry on Friday, rain probability increases for Saturday and Sunday. Rain is a frequent factor at Assen, and potential wet conditions could change the course of qualifying sessions and the main race. The fact that our representative achieved his best results at Assen in WorldSBK on wet surfaces suggests that a rainy scenario could be a favorable variable for him in MotoGP at Assen.

The championship battle in MotoGP will take on a new dimension on Assen’s slick track. For our representative, Toprak, this weekend signifies his first time riding a MotoGP motorcycle on a track where he has raced for years in WorldSBK. In the Moto2 category, representative Deniz Öncü aims for a top position at Assen with ELF Marc VDS. Having finished in 17th place with 15.5 points in the championship after completing his last race in 18th place at Brno, Deniz is positioned in 17th place in the championship.
