The winter testing schedule for the 2027 MotoGP season has been set. The first official ride of the new 850cc motorcycles will take place on December 1, 2026, following the Valencia Grand Prix. After these tests, a winter break will be taken, and preparations for the new season will continue in January.
New Season Test Schedule
The MotoGP winter testing program covers the Sepang and Buriram circuits. Shakedown sessions for riders and test riders will be held on January 29-30, 2027. Official MotoGP tests, which all riders will participate in, will take place between January 31 and February 1. Compared to previous years, there will be one fewer day in the official test program at Sepang.
Buriram and the New Racing Period
Following the winter tests, MotoGP will move to the Buriram circuit. The final pre-season tests in Thailand will be held on February 6-7. The same circuit will host the first Grand Prix of the 2027 season. The Thailand Grand Prix will take place from March 5-7, 2027, meaning the first race weekend of the new 850cc MotoGP era will begin at Buriram.
Moto2 and Moto3 Tests
Pre-season tests for the Moto2 and Moto3 categories will be held in Jerez. Moto2 special tests will take place on February 16-17, while Moto3 official tests will be scheduled for February 18-19. Additionally, the 2027 season schedule includes the Brazilian Grand Prix in Rio de Janeiro on February 21.
