New Riders Face Adaptation Challenges in Superbike Racing

Superbike World Championship (SBK) will feature three important new riders in the 2027 season. Brad Binder, Jack Miller, and Franco Morbidelli will replace the current MotoGP riders to participate in the series World Championship. While doubts are raised about whether this transition will be successful, the riders caution about the difficulties they might face.

Challenges of the New Riders

Franco Morbidelli, a Ducati rider, states that he should not be worried about the results of his transition from MotoGP to the Superbike World Championship.

Some riders may have bikes more suitable for the Superbike World Championship, while others may have bikes more suitable for MotoGP. Due to the different engines, a major compatibility is required regarding how riders' riding styles can be adapted to the new machines. Riders state that this adaptation largely depends on individual adjustment. One rider believes that their speed does not change, but timing and riding technique can be better understood. They note that the requirement for working with electronics and electronic systems plays a much larger role in the Superbike World Championship compared to Moto3, Moto2, and Supersport World Championship. Therefore, the view prevails that riders must adapt to these new conditions.
