The new season schedule for the MotoGP championship has been set. The new schedule will feature five double races and one triple race series, and the schedule includes races in Buenos Aires and Adelaide. Furthermore, the Balaton Park schedule in Hungary has been removed, meaning the prestigious Phillip Island circuit Australian Grand Prix will no longer be hosted.
Details of the New Races
With the revised schedule, the races in Buenos Aires in Argentina and Adelaide in Australia will take place for the champion. Liberty Media aims to attract the interest of other major cities around the world by moving the Adelaide race to the half-street circuit.
Our Plan to Go to Qatar in November
Start of the Season and European Races
The 2027 championship will begin on March 7th at the Buriram circuit in Thailand for the final pre-season tests. Considering the regional tensions continuing in the Middle East, the schedule, prepared accordingly, will move to the Losail circuit after Thailand. A one-week break will be given to the teams before the Qatar race, followed by races in the Americas.
Triple Race Series and Asian Tour
The end of the MotoGP season will conclude with a race in Valencia at the end of November. The season's only triple race series will consist of races in Japan on October 17th, Malaysia on October 24th, and Indonesia on October 31st. These races will pave the way for the paddock's Asian tour. The Portimao race in Portugal will serve as a transitional point for European races before the champion heads to Asia.
European Races
A total of 12 races will be held in Europe between mid-May and early October. The Jerez race in Spain will take place one week after its traditional date, on May 9th. During this period, the Portimao race in Portugal will serve as a transitional point among the European races.
Conclusion
After the MotoGP stops in Austin at the end of April, it will return to Europe. Uncertainty remains regarding whether the Qatar GP, which was planned for April but postponed due to the war, will be held this November. Under the shadow of this situation, which is expected to be clarified in the coming weeks, the 2027 Qatar race maintains its position as the second half of the season's schedule. The Brazil race leads the double race series for the season, while the Buenos Aires race on the Autódromo Oscar y Juan Gálvez circuit will take place in the second half of April, returning to the champion after nearly thirty years.
