MotoGP Japan 2026 Race Schedule Details

3 min read · 6 views

MotoGP races are held for years on the Motegi circuit in Japan. There were two races held in the past. Motegi was considered the Pacific Grand Prix during that period, while the Grand Prix of Japan was held at Suzuka. However, after the accident involving Daijiro Kato in 2003, races were discontinued on this track, and Motegi was officially designated as the Japanese GP. The 4.8-kilometer long track can be used in three different variations using connecting pieces. The MotoGP lap includes a complete circuit with eight right and six left corners.

Race Results and Notable Figures

In 2025, Marc Marquez won the MotoGP World Championship title by finishing second in Japan twice. His teammate Pecco Bagnaia won both the Sprint and Grand Prix last year. Notable figures in this year's races include Jorge Martin (Aprilia), who is leading the World Champions as he comes to Japan. Jorge Martin currently has a 12-point gap against Marc Marquez in third place. Marco Bezzecchi is in third place, trailing by twelve points. MotoGP classes of Moto3, Moto2, and MotoGP will start in the Japan races. For spectators in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, a seven-hour time difference based on Central European time must be taken into account. The MotoGP Sprint race will start on Saturday at 3:00 PM local time, which is 8:00 AM MESZ. Those who wish to watch the Moto3 race on Sunday must wake up at 4:00 AM. The MotoGP race starts on Saturday at 7:00 AM over 24 laps.
