This marks a significant expansion for the manufacturer, venturing into a discipline vastly different from its established motocross pedigree.
Ducati’s Desmo450 MX – A New Breed of Performance
The heart of this ambitious project is the Ducati Desmo450 MX, a ground-breaking machine developed in conjunction with nine-time FIM Motocross World Champion Tony Cairoli. Featuring desmodromic timing – a technology Ducati has pioneered – and incorporating cutting-edge technology alongside race-proven performance, the Desmo450 MX is poised to challenge established contenders. The team will be fielding British riders Tim Neave and Ashton Boughen, leveraging their respective experience and talent.
Neave, the reigning British champion and a former British Superbike Championship contender, brings a wealth of experience to the table. Despite a near-miss on the FIM bronze medal in 2023, the 30-year-old is determined to break through for his first victory. “We’re aiming to improve on that sixth-place ranking,” Neave stated, “This is a steep learning curve, but we're ready to embrace the challenge.”
Boughen, a 18-year-old rising star previously racing Motocross for Yamaha Europe and recently active in Speedway, represents the future. The teenager’s arrival adds a youthful dynamic to the team and promises exciting potential.
Expanding Horizons – A Ten-Round Global Series
The 2026 FIM Flat Track World Championship has been expanded to ten rounds, offering a comprehensive showcase of the sport. The series will visit eight countries and two continents, starting with the inaugural round in Roden, Netherlands on May 9th, culminating in two rounds in Argentina on October 24-25.

The VRX Dirt Store Ducati Race Team is backed by key partners including Dirt Store, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of off-road apparel, parts and equipment, and the FIM Track Racing Commission.
