MotoGP races provided important data about the Honda team's performance through the results of Honda riders Joan Mir and Luca Marini at the Aragon race. Local champion Mir finished 16th in the Sprint race and 12th in the Grand Prix. Luca Marini placed 14th in the main race. Other Honda riders also drew attention in the results and placed in the standings. Rookie Diogo Moreira was the best HRC rider, placing 7th and 9th.

Performance Deficiencies and Critical Analysis

MotoGP World Champion 2020 Joan Mir explained the reasons for the performance deficiencies while reviewing his results from the Aragon race. Mir stated that the lack of performance shown this week was not a surprise. However, what he personally was concerned about was the speed being more than ten times slower than last year. Mir emphasized that riders must understand their problems and find solutions.

Mir stated that they need to find solutions quickly to understand their problems. Speaking about the difficulties they experienced, especially during braking and corner entry, Mir described the situation as a disaster. Mir noted that these difficulties were not generally strong points in grip ability, but that while corner entry is usually not poor, this week was a nightmare.

"If we want to enjoy the latter part of the season, we need to understand where our problems lie in the shortest possible time. At that time, we must find a solution. This is my conclusion about Aragon," stressed the 2020 MotoGP World Champion.

Current Status and Future Plans

At the end of the MotoGP season, Joan Mir is in 18th place with 33 points. Johann Zarco, who had to miss six Grand Prix races due to injury, is currently in 17th place. Rookie Diogo Moreira was the best HRC rider, placing 7th and 9th.

Mir announced that he will participate for the first time in the Valencia Test at Desmosedici in December, prior to the nine MotoGP events with Honda. Additionally, he will start Gresini Racing in the Mallorquiner race in September to celebrate his 29th birthday. Mir stated that completing races is very important for a rider's confidence.

"If I am not in a position to make a difference and cannot use it as I want, it is important to finish the races at least," he added.
