Acosta's Victory and Podium Rankings
Pedro Acosta achieved the first Grand Prix victory of his MotoGP career at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Spanish rider started from third place in the race and fought in the front group during the first stint. Despite pressure from Jorge Martin, Acosta maintained his lead in the final part of the race, securing his victory. With this result, Jorge Martin finished second, and Marco Bezzecchi finished third.
Among the other significant results of the race, Marc Márquez finished fifth in the Austrian Grand Prix. The Lenovo Ducati rider Márquez fell behind in the first stint, moving out of the front group. Márquez struggled to keep pace with the tempos of Ducati and KTM throughout the race, and finished fifth on the checkered flag. With this result, Márquez lost points in the championship fight against Jorge Martin, but gained advantage with Jorge Martin finishing second. Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium by taking third place with Aprilia. This result once again demonstrated Aprilia's strong performance at the Red Bull Ring.
Practice Sessions and Performance Analysis
The first practice session of the MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix was completed at the Red Bull Ring. KTM riders showed a remarkable performance during this session. Pol Espargaro, competing for KTM Tech3, took second place. Acosta was the fastest rider in the session with a lap time of 1:28.1. Pol Espargaro delivered a strong lap in the final part of the session, bringing the factory KTMs into the top two positions. Pol Espargaro did not suffer any injuries, despite having an accident later in the session.
Yamaha Performance and Top Ten
The national rider [Toprak Razgatlıoğlu] started the weekend with Prima Pramac Yamaha in the Austrian Grand Prix. Toprak, competing with the Yamaha M1 at the Red Bull Ring, continued working with the team to find the correct settings throughout the weekend. Especially in the Red Bull Ring, known for its short and fast layout, the national rider Toprak worked on correct braking, corner exits, and straight-line performance. He focused on developing his motorcycle based on the data collected. Following the first session, Toprak and the Prima Pramac Yamaha team will continue their work in the other sessions of the weekend to show a stronger performance with the collected data. The fact that all Yamaha riders scored outside the points in the Austrian GP drew attention. The FP1 results showed that KTM had a strong start in the home race. Furthermore, the rivalry between Marc Márquez and Jorge Martin in the championship fight emerged from the first session. Three riders from Honda finished in the top 10: Johann Zarco fifth, Alex Márquez eighth, and Luca Marini tenth. Francesco Bagnaia, the other Ducati Lenovo rider, completed the first practice session in tenth place at the Red Bull Ring. Austria was considered an important weekend for reversing the difficult period Ducati experienced. Factory KTM rider Brad Binder finished outside the top 10.
