Toprak to Conduct Quartararo Setup Adjustments in Catalonia GP

Spanish rider Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, riding a Yamaha motorcycle, will closely examine Fabio Quartararo’s performance at the Catalonia Grand Prix, conducting various setup adjustments to refine his motorcycle’s corner characteristics. Razgatlıoğlu noted that during the race’s early stages, he achieved good lap times while Quartararo’s motorcycle had more grip and fuel, but that Quartararo’s performance declined towards the end of the race.

Quartararo’s Performance and Razgatlıoğlu’s Assessment

Fabio Quartararo concluded the weekend in sixth place after Yamaha’s new V4 engine achieved its best performance to date. The French rider finished behind Jorge Martin’s Aprilia by 7.7 seconds. Quartararo highlighted that the 32-second gap at the end of the race was excessively large, adding that “We need to develop the motorcycle like Fabio.”

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu achieved his best Grand Prix result to date, crossing the finish line in 13th place. In a post-race statement, he said, “We learned a lot in Le Mans and we want to use this experience in Barcelona.”

Setup Adjustments and Objectives

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu’s primary objective in Catalonia is to improve the motorcycle’s cornering characteristics through Quartararo-style setup adjustments. He plans to experiment with different settings.

“We are still losing time in the corners. It seems like he has found something different and uses the motorcycle very well,” Razgatlıoğlu stated.

Razgatlıoğlu acknowledged that he has not yet fully adapted to the optimal riding position on the motorcycle and felt that the front end was too low. He is attempting to adapt to this situation, while also considering switching to a different seat if the regulations change next year.
