MotoGP riders are experiencing a disconnect in the current racing environment. These changes bring difficulties, especially those introduced by the new tires.
Past Differences and New Challenges
Among the riders competing in MotoGP, some experiences and expectations place the current situation on a different footing. This emphasizes that the riders' struggles are not easy.
You have to do well, you have to do well; it is not easy as it seems. It might have been different in the past; a few things will change with the new tires (Pirelli instead of Michelin – write). You all won the race, Miguel and I won. Lecuona or Lowes-Zwilling are very fast. There are many riders who will not participate in MotoGP, but many are excellent. I finished my career in MotoGP while riding with Lecuona, and we were almost dying. Our job is not easy if you are competing with the best in the world on your motorcycle. It is difficult because there are very good riders.
Superbike Races and Championships
There are some championships among the riders transitioning from MotoGP to Superbike races. This transition points to the achievements of certain riders.
- Raymond Roche (1990)
- John Kocinski (1997)
- Max Biaggi (2010, 2012)
- Carlos Checa (2011) -Sylvain Guintoli (2014) -Alvaro Bautista (2022, 2023)
These achievements show that this transition is not a guarantee by itself.
Future Season Plans
While the MotoGP season is expected to continue until November 29th, some riders are planning to conduct their first Superbike tests in December. These tests will be held at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia on December 9th and 10th. Franco Morbidelli, Brad Binder, and Jack Miller are among the current MotoGP pilots. The goal is for these three riders to complete their first Superbike tests in December.
