4 min read · 4 views

The responsible group for motorsport organization has officially published the 2027 race calendar. The calendar confirms 22 events, including the final races in Thailand early in March and in Valencia at the end of November. The biggest innovations in the MotoGP new season plan involve the designation of two new race venues.

New Race Tracks and Homologation Issues

New race venues play a significant role among the races planned for MotoGP next season. While races will take place in the early stages in Buenos Aires, the capital of Europe, returning to a known track. While large-scale infrastructure work continues, there are doubts regarding these arrangements. However, it is stated that the majority of the motorsport world championship supports this project.

Australian Races and Legal Procedures

The situation in Australia is different. The end of the Australia-GP at Phillip Island and the transition to Adelaide have been confirmed. Promoters state that the MotoGP races will take place on November 12th, for the first time in a city center on a street circuit, from the final MotoGP podium. To ensure the necessary FIM homologation, road construction work or more definitive road construction work must be implemented. These works are being evaluated in relation to the expansion of crash areas.

Resistance to the Project

Resistance is observed against the visionary plans of the MotoGP organizers. The possibility of the project being cancelled, contrary to expectations, occurred due to the lack of sufficient environmental support. In response to this situation, the MotoGP major project has gone to court, as reported by the Australian television channel "7 News Adelaide." On September 18th, a formal lawsuit was filed against the race plan before the competent federal court. The court is examining a similar case regarding the expansion of the golf course. The time and manner in which the result of this lawsuit will be determined is uncertain. This lawsuit poses a risk of legal obstruction to the launch of MotoGP. There are still 14 months until the MotoGP launch in Adelaide, and the homologation process has been blocked by construction work. Furthermore, there is a second issue on the MotoGP calendar, besides the desert race in Qatar, whose execution is uncertain due to the nearby conflict in the Middle East.
