Marc Marquez won the MotoGP sprint race and reached the top of the championship. The Lenovo Team rider finished the race 0.509 seconds ahead of Ai Ogura from third place. As Fabio Di Giannantonio finished third, Jorge Martin took the third position and handed the championship lead to Marquez.
Incidents in the First Corner
Raul Fernandez, Marco Bezzecchi, Di Giannantonio, and Marquez came side-by-side at the start of the race. When Fabio Di Giannantonio let go of the brakes, he could not hold his line and pushed Marquez off the line. Marco Bezzecchi surprised Marquez by having to straighten his motorcycle; Bezzecchi then hit Raul Fernandez while straightening his bike. Both Aprilia riders fell, and Bezzecchi and Fernandez left the race before completing the first lap.
Martin's Lead and Marquez's Maneuver
Jorge Martin gained an advantage by exploiting the confusion in the first corner and increased his gap on every lap. Marc Marquez entered second place. However, Jorge Martin relinquished the lead to Marquez in the ninth position during the 13th lap. Martin kept the tire pressure low, assuming the race would develop differently for his team. With very low pressure, the champion Martin had to back off to increase the pressure. Martin, who was waiting for the final section behind Marquez, lost control of the brakes and went off track, nearly risking a crash and losing two positions. Marquez overtook Jorge Martin from inside the corner with a calm maneuver and reached the summit. Martin did not allow the gap to open and followed Marquez with a 0.300 second gap.
