In motorsport, what happened during the race relates to rider Zarco. What occurred during the race was caused by Zarco experiencing a fall. This incident provides information about the general state of the race and the rider's reactions.
A Serious Fall Occurred
The incident of a rider falling during the race relates to what Zarco experienced. The Honda rider reported that the rear of the motorcycle lifted and he lost control as he entered the last corner. When explaining the severity of the fall, Zarco emphasized that this fall was different from previous ones.
When shifting into the last curve, the bike lifted at the rear, then it lost control. Unlike the last falls, this was severe, because I fell from a high position onto my hips. It hurt for a moment, so I took a moment. But it was just a bruise – I am fine and I am not worrying about it. I was in attack mode and then this can happen.
Loss of Position and Rider Reactions
While falling, Zarco was worried about maintaining his position. Although Zarco finished as a strong first and best Honda rider in FP1, he dropped to tenth place before the last overtake in qualifying. At the moment of the fall, there were five minutes left in the race.
I was really scared, I didn't want to fall in Q1. Because the base of the motorcycle here is fantastic. I am also sure that it would have been possible to improve from tenth place once more. A time of 1:43 was possible. Zarco would have finished in fifth place.
The veteran was lucky. The moves of the rival drivers failed, and they overtook him from the upper ranks. A moment later, Zarco gained a lead of 0.004 seconds. Zarco finished the first day of the race at Motegi comfortably and stated:
I assume that we can make a real step on Saturday. The motorcycle works fabulously, but we must still coordinate it so that we can use everything. If it works, it is very possible; if it doesn't work – then it will be really difficult with the improvements others will make.
The Honda team expressed satisfaction at the end of the race despite the fall. The fact that two riders were in Q2 and the close time gaps form the basis for a pleasant weekend at Motegi.
