4 min read · 5 views

MotoGP At the Indonesian Grand Prix, the Aprilia achieved first place in the top four positions in MotoGP history. In the winning race, Marco Bezzecchi took first place, Raul Fernandez second, Jorge Martin third, and Ai Ogura fourth. Marc Marquez finished in fifth place. The national athlete Toprak Razgatlıoğlu did not participate in the race.

Aprilia's Historic Achievement

The 27-lap race held in Mandalika was a showcase for Aprilia's superiority. The Italian manufacturer achieved a historic result by taking the top four positions with its four motorcycles after an incident occurred during the sprint race. Marco Bezzecchi secured his first victory since the Italian Grand Prix in Mugello, while Jorge Martin reclaimed his championship lead against Marc Marquez.

Bezzecchi overtook Fernandez to win. Raul Fernandez, who started from pole position, maintained his lead despite Bezzecchi's challenge on the first corner. While the gap between the two Aprilia riders was around half a second in the early laps, Bezzecchi increased his pace as the race progressed, putting pressure on his teammate. The Italian rider who passed Fernandez on the lap, gained the lead, and quickly widened the gap, setting a new race record with a time of 1:29.960 in the same lap. Bezzecchi secured one of the season's crucial victories by passing Fernandez by 4.260 seconds. Fernandez, who suffered two broken fingers in the sprint win, drew attention by securing second place despite his physical problems.

Critical Differences in the Championship Battle

Jorge Martin competed directly with Marc Marquez in the first part of the race. Martin overtook the Ducati rider on the 10th corner with an overtake, rising to third place, and maintained his position for the remainder of the race. The Spanish rider reclaimed his championship lead by scoring 16 points from third place. Marc Marquez finished in fifth place after battling with Pedro Acosta and Ai Ogura. Thus, the gap between Martin and Marquez was set at two points after the Indonesian Grand Prix. Bezzecchi maintained his hopes for the championship with a 46-point deficit from the leader.

Ai Ogura overtook Marc Marquez and then Pedro Acosta to rise to fourth place. The Japanese rider maintained his position despite the pressure from Acosta in the final laps, completing Aprilia's historic result. With Fernandez, Martin, and Ogura taking the top four positions, Aprilia completed the first Grand Prix in MotoGP history with four motorcycles. This result is also recorded as Italy's victory in the top class 300 Grand Prix of MotoGP. However, the two-point gap between Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez indicates how intense the competition will be in the remaining races of the season.

Withdrawal from the Race

National athlete Toprak Razgatlıoğlu emerged with the physical effects of the serious injury he sustained on Saturday of the Indonesian Grand Prix. After sustaining an injury to his shoulder during the sprint, Toprak managed to compete in the main race on Sunday after his shoulder was repositioned. However, the Prima Pramac rider did not last long in Mandalika. After completing the first nine laps, Toprak returned to the pit lane and withdrew from the race. There is no official statement regarding whether the reason for withdrawal was a herniated disc. While Fabio Quartararo finished ninth for Yamaha, Alex Rins finished fifteenth, and Toprak's teammate Jack Miller also failed to complete the race. Francesco Bagnaia, the Ducati Lenovo Team rider, also did not complete the race after an accident in the early part.
