MotoGP star Alex Marquez will be unable to compete in the Italian and Hungarian races due to the unfortunate accident he experienced at the Catalan Grand Prix in Barcelona. Details of the Accident and Treatment Process

During the 12th lap of the Catalan Grand Prix, Alex Marquez, who was hit from behind by KTM factory team pilot Pedro Acosta, suffered a serious accident. Following the violent collision, a marginal fracture was detected in Marquez’s C7 vertebra, as well as a fracture in his right collarbone. Following this horrific accident, there were concerns that the world number two pilot’s condition could worsen, but the pilot was reported to have escaped with minor injuries.

The driver was immediately operated on for his collarbone injury on the evening of the race weekend. With an operation conducted at the Hospital General de Catalunya, Marquez’s bone was secured with a plate. Following the surgery, the pilot was discharged from the hospital on Monday.

The duration of the 30-year-old driver’s recovery is still unclear. The team has definitively confirmed that Marquez will miss the upcoming Italian Grand Prix and the race immediately following it in Hungary.

Team officials stated that they are awaiting the completion of Marquez’s treatment and the duration of his recovery process. Whether he will return to the team at the Czech Republic Grand Prix or at the Brno circuit will be determined according to the progress of his treatment.
