Cornering Speed: The Ground's First 850cc Trial

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu had a challenging start to his rookie season. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu started his rookie season by scoring two points in the Grand Prix during his first tests. These points represent the maximum achievement possible for the Yamaha M1. The rider's eyes were fixed directly on the 2027 season. In the first Montag, the Turkish rider had the opportunity to test the 850cc Yamaha model under the new regulations and Pirelli tires.

After the initial test kilometers, the rider expressed his satisfaction: "I am satisfied with the tests. We are not 100% ready for the new machine yet, but this is a positive start." Razgatlıoğlu mentioned that this experience reminded him of his WorldSBK time. The feel of the Pirelli front tires is similar to testing on a Superbike. However, he stated that there was grip potential in the rear tires.

Technical Analysis: Power and Corners

The most striking observation by the rider was the emphasis on the smaller power difference compared to the current 1000cc class. Razgatlıoğlu said, "The power difference is smaller. It feels very slow on the 850cc machine. But rules are rules, we must comply."

However, he stressed that the real difference lies in the corner exits: "After the corner, when taking third or fourth gear, nothing happens." This indicates that the speeds are higher compared to the current MotoGP generation. These observations will continue to be strengthened as the tests progress and experience increases. For the 2027 season, where all manufacturers face new regulations, they expect solutions to emerge under high pressure.

Razgatlıoğlu avoided answering whether he noticed any specific manufacturer during the tests. The rider stated that he was focused solely on his job, saying, "I am only focused on my job. I understand the machine and the tires, and I only focus on myself."
